Kanchenjunga is a naturally stunning area with excellent geographical features ranging from subtropical to glacier region; Himalayan peaks above 7000m and ever growing varied flora and fauna. Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m), the third highest mountain in the world, popularly known as the queen of the mountains is situated at the Nepal-Sikkim border. The massive Kanchenjunga glacier is the remarkable trait of the region. The magnificent mountain lies above the rhododendron forests with river flowing from its sides. Kanchenjunga is the magnet of the new trekking trails: Pathibhara and Limbu cultural trails that give the opportunity to experience the Himalayan culture and lifestyle. Limbus are the prevailing occupant of the Kanchenjunga region, with the upper area of the region settled by Tibetans, Sherpas, Rais, Gurungs, Magars, Newar, Sunwars and Tamangs of Tibetan-Mongolian orient. Cardamom farming, agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism are the major source of subsistence in the region. The attractive feature of the journey is trekking forth the sacred shrine, alpine meadows, rocky outcrops, extreme temperature, subtropical forests and low river fields and with its diverse ecology, the world’s largest pure rhododendron forest flourishes in the region with the utmost number of species in the planet. There should be minimum 2 people in a group in the trek per the rule of the Government of Nepal. The entire trek in Kanchenjunga which encloses the Milke Danda ridge (trekking route exceeding 4/5 days from Basantapur) with North as well as South base camp, the 5 great passes in ‘Mirgin La’ route (approximately 4660m) or ‘Lapsang La’ route (approximately 5110 m) with the shortest distance between the two requires at least 26 to 30 days of trekking.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our correspondent who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. Once checked in, we will arrange a pre-trip meeting where we will brief in short about the trek, answer any queries you have and meet your trekking guide as well. After the short brief, you can relax and spend rest of the day at your leisure.

This day we will fly Kathmandu to Bhadrapur in the morning after having breakfast at the lodge. After arrival in Bhadrapur airport we will drive to Taplejung on private vehicle, it takes around 8 hours to reach Taplejung.

After having breakfast, we will take jeep ride from Taplejung to Sekathum which takes about 5 hours. Today's ride will be on full off road. On the way we can see villages, local people, village lifestyle, terraced farming and so on.

This day after having breakfast we will prepare to begin our trek to Amjilasa whcih takes about 6 hours.
We will walk for about 6 hours through mostly uphill and slightly straight trail. On the way we will cross dense bamboo forest, beautiful waterfalls. We will see village settlements of Sherpa communities, most of the people in that area involve in agriculture farming, they grow mostly potato, buck wheat and vegetables.

This day we will have breakfast in the morning and then begin to trek towards Gyabla whcih takes about 4 hours.
We will walk for about 1 and half hours through narrow and downhill trail till Thyangyan and again walking uphill trail for about 2 and half hours we will reach Gyabla, on the way we will cross dense bamboo and pine forests walking along side Ghunsa Khola (stream). Gyabla is a village having settlement of Sherpa communities.

This day we will have breakfast in morning and then prepare to trek towards Ghunsa whcih takes about 5 hours.
We have to walk 3 hours through slightly uphill trail and mostly straight trail to reach Phale villlage. On the way we will cross dense mix forest, meet people of Tibetan origins in Phale village and have a chance to see their unique culture and traditions, if we are lucky we will have a chance to see Red Panda (one of the endangered species). After walking for about 2 hours we will reach Ghunsa.

This day we will have breakfast in the morning and then walk for about 6:5 hours to reach Kambachan.
Today we will walk mostly through uphill trail. On the way we will cross pine forest, see beautiful waterfalls and also have a chance to see beautiful views of Khumbakarna Himal, Nupchu Himal, Chang Himal and many other mountains.

Rest day for acclimatization in Kambachan.
This day we will have breakfast in morning and then prepare to trek towards Lhonak whcih takes about 5 hours.
This day we will walk for about 5 hours through uphill and rocky trail, on the way we will see Kangbachen Himal (7903 m), Yalung Kang (8505 m) and so on..
Stay overnight at lodge in Lhonak.
This day we will walk for about 3 hours to reach Kanchanjunga Base Camp (Pang Pema) and then return back to Lhonak in another 2 hours.
We will walk through rocky and uphill trail to reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp. On the way will see massive glaciers, On the right side of our way we will see Mt Kanchanjunga (8586m),Mt Pathivara, Mt. YalungKang, Nepal Peak, Twin Peak, Tent Peak and many others, we can also see wild animals such as blue sheep, few species of bird.
From the base camp, we will enjoy the view and then descend back to Lhonak.

This day we will walk for about 6 hours to reach Ghunsa from Lhonak.
After having breakfast we will walk downhill and along a smooth path through the pine forest and on the way we will see blue sheep, large waterfalls, some species of birds and other animals grazing in the fields. We will also have good views of Mount Kanchenjunga (8586m), Mount Pathivara, Mount Yalung Kang, Nepal Peak, Twin Peak, Tent Peak and many others.

This day we will walk for about 6 hours to reach Selele Phedi.
We will walk downhill and along a smooth path through the pine forest and on the way we will see blue sheep, large waterfalls, some species of birds and other animals grazing in the fields. We will also have good views of Mount Kanchenjunga (8586m), Mount Pathivara, Mount Yalung Kang, Nepal Peak, Twin Peak, Tent Peak and many others.
Stay overnight at lodge in Selele Phedi.
This day we have to walk for about 7 hours crossing three passes Selele Pass (4440 m), Mirgin La Pass (4480 m) and Sinelapche Pass (4440 m). Upto Selele Pass we have to walk though uphill trail and afterwards through straight trail. On the way between Mirgin La Pass & Tseram we will see Talung Peak, Kabru peak, Kabru North, Kabru south, Sarphru center, we will also cross small pine forest.

This day we will hike for about 7 hours to reach Tortang. We will walk through the forest and along the Simbuwa khola river.

This day, after breakfast, we will head towards Sekathum, with an approximate duration of 09 to 10 hours. We will have to walk through the dense forest to reach Sekathum.

If we stay in Sekathum the day before, we will start the day after breakfast, continuing by road by Jeep until we reach Suketar/Taplejung.

If we get a flight on the scheduled date, we will fly directly to Kathmandu. If it is not possible due to no flight, we will transfer by road by private vehicle to Bhadrapur and fly back to Kathmandu that same afternoon or the next day in the morning.
