Mount Lhotse is the fourth tallest peak in the World lies in the eastern part of Nepal Himalayas besides the Mount Everest. Mr. Ernst Reiss from Switzerland first climbed the mountain on 18TH may 1956 from the west Face. Mountaineers use Everest Base Camp (5300m) to mount Lhotse Peak.
Mt Everest and Lhotse share the same base camp.Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), an independent mountain, but one of three peaks including Lhotse East or Middle, Lhotse & Lhotse Shar is part of the Everest Massif. The primary route now is via Everest's South Col. The climbing route up to camp III of MT. Lhotse & Mt. Everest is the same. The route separates above Camp III and part of the South Col.
