Mr. Mikel Leizeaga Ugarte is the dedicated Marketing Executive Officerat Asian Adventure Treks & Expedition (AATE). Born in the picturesque village of Legazpi in Gipuzkoa, Spain, Mr. Ugarte's journey to Nepal began in 1993 when he first visited the country. During this visit, he trekked the Annapurna Circuit and was captivated by Nepal's majestic mountains, panoramic views, and rich cultural diversity. His curiosity and enthusiasm for Nepal's diverse culture, religion, people, and traditions grew stronger with each passing day.
While exploring Nepal, Mr. Ugarte met a Nepali woman who would later become his wife. Their love story led him to settle in Kathmandu, the city of temples. This personal connection deepened his love for Nepal, making it his second home.
For over a decade, Mr. Ugarte has been an integral part of AATE as the Marketing Executive Officer. He plays a vital role in promoting Nepalese tourism among European audiences, particularly in Spain. His bi-cultural background allows him to bridge the gap between Spain and Nepal, offering Spanish travellers a unique and comfortable experience in Nepal.
Mr. Ugarte actively participates in tourism fairs in Spain almost every year, where he promotes AATE's services and the beauty of Nepal to potential travellers. He is dedicated to responding to customer inquiries via email and ensuring the best possible experience for clients in the city. His fluency in Spanish, Basque, Nepali, and English enables him to communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients.
With a profound love for both Spain and Nepal, Mr. Ugarte is passionate about organizing and facilitating trekking, travel, peak climbing, expeditions, and adventure tour packages in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan for Spanish customers. His deep understanding of both cultures and his extensive experience in the tourism industry make him an invaluable asset to AATE and a trusted guide for Spanish travellers.
