Begin your journey with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Upon arrival, continue the journey by road to Ilam, a serene hill town in eastern Nepal famous for its lush tea gardens and cool climate. Enjoy the green landscapes and peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay in Ilam. 

After breakfast, explore the natural and cultural beauty of Ilam, a serene hill town in eastern Nepal known for its tea estates, lush landscapes, and peaceful environment. Main Highlights of the tour:

1. Ilam Tea Gardens
Stroll through the famous green tea gardens that blanket the hills. Learn about Nepal's tea production process and enjoy a warm cup of fresh Ilam tea.

2. Antu Danda Viewpoint (2328 m)
One of the best spots to witness the sunrise over the eastern Himalayas, including views of Mt. Kanchenjunga on clear days. This is also a popular location for photography and short hikes.

3. Mai Pokhari (Sacred Pond)
A beautiful and serene lake located about 15 km from Ilam Bazaar. Surrounded by lush forests, Mai Pokhari is considered sacred and is home to various rare plants and bird species.

4. Siddhi Thumka Viewpoint
A lesser-known gem offering panoramic views of the hills, villages, and terraced fields. A great option for short hiking and peaceful reflection.

5. Local Culture and Villages
Visit nearby villages to observe local Limbu, Rai, and other ethnic communities, learn about their traditional lifestyle, and maybe even witness tea-picking during the harvest season.

an early breakfast in Ilam, begin your scenic drive downhill to Bhadrapur Airport, located in the eastern Terai region of Nepal. The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours, winding through lush tea gardens, forested hills, and small villages, gradually descending to the subtropical lowlands.

Upon arrival at Bhadrapur, you will be welcomed by our local representative who will assist with your transfer to the Nepal–India border. After completing immigration and customs formalities, we continue our journey into India, heading toward Kalimpong in West Bengal.

The drive from the border to Kalimpong is around 85 km and takes about 4 hours. This scenic route follows the Teesta River Valley, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and rivers.

Arrive in Kalimpong by late afternoon and check into your hotel. In the evening, you can explore the local market, enjoy the town’s peaceful vibe, or relax at your hotel. 

Today after breakfast check out of the Hotel and visit Durbin Monastery and Catus Garden and the drive to Pelling. On the way to Pelling we will visit Pemayangtse monastery. Reach Pelling check in at Hotel at Pelling. Leisure overnight. 

  • Durpin Monastery (Zang Dhok Palri Phodang)
    Perched on a ridge, this monastery offers panoramic views of Kalimpong town and the surrounding valleys. It houses rare Buddhist scriptures brought from Tibet.

  • Cactus Nursery
    Kalimpong is known for its exotic plant nurseries, and this one features a unique collection of cacti and succulents.

Today after early breakfast visit Khecheopalri Lake Sikkimese people say that this lake is the foot print of Goddess Tara. After visiting this lake transfer back to Gangtok. Today will be little long drive. Reach Gangtok Check in at Hotel at Gangtok Leisure overnight.

  • Rimbi Waterfall & Rimbi Rock Garden: A serene spot perfect for a short stroll. The Rimbi River also supports a local fish farm.

  • Khecheopalri Lake: A sacred lake for both Buddhists and Hindus, believed to fulfill wishes. Local legend says birds prevent any leaf from landing on its surface. The lake is also considered the footprint of Goddess Tara.

  • Kanchenjunga Waterfalls: One of the most powerful waterfalls in Sikkim, this stunning cascade is a popular photo stop en route.

After sightseeing, begin the scenic 5–6 hour drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. The journey winds through lush forests, hillside villages, and along rivers like the Rangit and Teesta, offering picturesque Himalayan landscapes.

Today morning after breakfast at 8am we will have a walk which is called the Royal Sikkim Heritage Walk. This walk highlights the history about the Last King of Sikkim about his family. Then after walk we do sightseeing around Gangtok. You will visit Rumtek Monastry, Tibetology and Do Durl Chorten. Then walk around Gangtok Local People. Then free on your own. Leisure overnight.

  • Rumtek Monastery: The largest monastery in Sikkim and the seat of the Karmapa of the Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It features traditional Tibetan architecture, vibrant wall murals, and a serene atmosphere.
  • Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: A renowned center for Tibetan studies, this museum and research institute houses a rare collection of Buddhist manuscripts, thangkas, statues, and ancient relics.
  • Do Drul Chorten: One of the most important stupas in Sikkim, surrounded by 108 prayer wheels. Built by the Nyingma order, it is a peaceful site for spiritual reflection.
  • MG Marg & Local Market Walk: Spend the evening exploring MG Marg, Gangtok’s main boulevard. Enjoy local snacks, shop for handicrafts, and soak in the lively vibe of the town.

Today after breakfast we will drive to Darjeeling. The distance from Gangtok to Darjeeling is 105 km and will take 4 hours. The drive will be along the Tea Garden and Darjeeling Himalayan Rail. Reach Darjeeling Check in at hotel. Then in the evening walk around Darjeeling market.

Today early morning at 4 AM we visit Tiger Hill From here you can see the Sun Rise over 3rd Highest Peak (Mt Kanchendzonga) and come back to the Hotel for Breakfast. After breakfast we drive to Darjeeling Rail Station for Toy Train ride till Ghom Station. We will pick you up from Ghoom Station and bring you for Lunch. After Lunch we visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. After this sightseeing come back to the Hotel and rest for a while and then in the evening visit the local market. Leisure overnight.

  • 4:00 AM – Sunrise at Tiger Hill: Drive to Tiger Hill (2590 m) to catch the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak. On a clear day, you may even glimpse Mount Everest in the distance. This magical moment is a highlight of any Darjeeling trip.
  • Batasia Loop & War Memorial: On your return, stop at the Batasia Loop – a scenic railway loop that offers stunning views of the mountains and houses a memorial dedicated to Gorkha soldiers.
  • Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train) Ride: Enjoy a historic Toy Train ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom (the highest railway station in India). This UNESCO World Heritage experience offers charming views of tea gardens and town life.
  • Ghoom Monastery (Yiga Choeling): Visit this 19th-century monastery near Ghoom station, home to a beautiful statue of Maitreya Buddha and ancient scriptures.

After an early breakfast, check out from your hotel in Darjeeling and begin your journey back to Nepal. The scenic drive to Bhadrapur Airport in eastern Nepal takes approximately 6–7 hours, descending through the tea gardens and forested hills of Darjeeling and entering the flat Terai region.

You’ll drive along winding roads with panoramic views of the Himalayan foothills, small towns, and the tranquil Teesta River Valley. Upon reaching the Nepal–India border, our team will assist with immigration formalities. After crossing into Nepal, continue the short drive to Bhadrapur Airport.

From Bhadrapur, board your domestic flight to Kathmandu (approx. 50 minutes). Upon arrival at Kathmandu domestic airport, transfer to your hotel or onward destination.

Permits Required For Darjeeling & Sikkim Tour from Nepal

Yes, permits are required for Sikkim but not for Darjeeling for travelers from Nepal. 

  1. Ilam: No permits are needed to visit Ilam. 
  2. Sikkim: Foreign nationals (excluding Bhutanese & Nepalese) need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Sikkim. It’s free and can be obtained at entry checkpoints like Rangpo, Melli, or Bagdogra Airport.
  3. Darjeeling/Kalimpong: No special permits are needed. A valid Indian visa is enough.

For restricted areas in North Sikkim (like Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang, etc.), a Protected Area Permit (PAP) is required and must be arranged through a registered travel agency.

You will fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur (Nepal’s eastern airport), then drive to the Nepal–India border for immigration. After crossing into India, a private vehicle will transfer you to Kalimpong or your first Indian destination.
