Khopra Danda Yoga Trek - 14 Days Detailed Itinerary

Starts: Kathmandu
Ends: Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our correspondent who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. Once checked in, we will arrange a pre-trip meeting where we will brief in short about the trek, answer any queries you have and meet your trekking guide as well. After the short brief, you can relax and spend rest of the day at your leisure. Stay overnight at hotel.

Today we will prepare to begin our journey to Pokhara, beautiful city of lakes. In the morning, we will have breakfast at the hotel and then get ready to depart from Kathmandu. We will travel to Pokhara via tourist vehicle which takes about 8-9 hours (200 km). We can explore around lakeside of Pokhara city in the evening. Stay overnight at the hotel.

After having breakfast in hotel, you prepare to begin the trek towards Hille via Nayapul which is 1.5 hours drive to Nayapul and about 4 hours trek to Hille.

After driving for about 1.5 hours, you reach Nayapul which is the entry point for Annapurna Base Camp trekking. From Nayapul you will check your permit, and then prepare to trek towards Hille.

You will be walking straight ascending trial until Hille. Hille is a small beautiful village of Annapurna region where we can see local people and beautiful nature. Stay overnight at lodge in Hille.

This day after having breakfast prepare to begin the trek to the ultimate destination, Ghorepani which takes about 6-7 hours.

Today you will have to walk mostly uphill trial to reach Ghorepani. Today’s walk will be through the Rhododendron and Pine Forest until Banthati. From Banthati following Bhurungdi Khola (River) you will reach Nangge Thanti. From here, again walking ascending trial you will reach Ghorepani. The route from Ulleri to Ghorepani is very beautiful as we get to see beautiful forest as well as views of mountain in between the trail.

Ghorepani is a beautiful settlement of Magar people surrounded by the hills and amazing forests. As we enter Ghorepani we start to see local house, horses, mules, and so on. Also, from Ghorepani you can see amazing views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Mount Nilgiri and other Annapurna Range. Stay overnight at lodge in Ghorepani.

This day you will wake up early in the morning and go to Poonhill to see from the viewpoint. You have to ascend for about 1 hour and a half to get to Poonhill. You can enjoy the panoramic views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the Himalayas along with the sunrise and then return to the lodge in approx. 1 hour descent. You have breakfast at the lodge and get ready to head to Swanta.
From Ghorepani, it takes about 4 hours to get to Swanta. You will have to walk along a descending path to Chitré and then walk slightly downhill until you reach Swanta. On the way you can see a beautiful jungle. Overnight in Lodge.

This day after breakfast at the lodge you will head to your next destination, to Khopra Dada. It takes about 6 hours to get there and you start walking on a smooth trail and then walking uphill to reach Khopra Dada. On the way you can see beautiful forests and as you reach greater heights, you can see the castle and domestic animals roaming around. Overnight in teahouse.

This day you will wake up early in the morning to observe the breathtaking views of the sunrise from the Khopra Dada viewpoint. You have to walk along an ascending path for about 3 hours until you reach the viewpoint. From here you will have panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, as well as the Annapurna South that can be seen very close as in the lap of the Himalayas from this viewpoint. After enjoying the view, you will descend the same path to the lodge, which takes about 1 hour and a half. Overnight at Lodge

After an early breakfast at Khopra Danda (3,660 m), you begin your trek toward Bhaisi Kharka (3,426 m). The trail involves a gradual descent through dense rhododendron and oak forests, offering a peaceful and scenic walk through the alpine jungle. The journey takes approximately 5 hours, depending on pace and rest breaks. It's a relatively gentle day compared to previous climbs.

You’ll arrive at Bhaisi Kharka by afternoon, where you’ll spend the night at a local lodge surrounded by tranquil forest and mountain silence.

This day after breakfast, you will head towards the Muldai viewpoint. You will have to walk through an ascending and smooth trial to reach Muldai, which takes about 2 and a half hours. You can observe breathtaking views from Muldai. After enjoying ourselves for a while, you will head towards Tadapani, which takes us about 4 hours. You will pass through the jungle along a descending trail before reaching Tadapani. Overnight at Lodge.

This day you will hike to Jhinu Danda, which takes us about 6/7 hours, on an ascending and descending trail. On the way you will go to the village of Chhomrong for lunch and then returning a section along the same road to begin a descent of approximately 1 hour arriving in Jhinu. Danda, where you can relax in its pool of natural hot springs. Overnight at Lodge. 

Today we will have breakfast and then drive back to Pokhara in private jeep which takes about 3.5 hours. Upon arrival in Pokhara, free day for sightseeing, exploring around Pokhara, beautiful city of Lakes, spa, shopping,etc...

Note: For those preferring a bit more walking, it is possible to trek upto Siwai for about 2 hours and then from there drive back to Pokhara in another 2.5 hours. Stay overnight at in Pokhara.

This day after having breakfast at the hotel, we will prepare to return back to Kathmandu. Again, we will have three options (flight / private vehicle / tourist bus) to return back to Kathmandu. We can choose the favourable option and return back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu. 

Enjoy your last day in Kathmandu before departure. At your scheduled departure time, our correspondent will pick you up from the hotel, transfer you to the airport, and bid you farewell with warm hearts.

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) – This is the primary permit required to enter and trek within the Annapurna Conservation Area.
  • Trekker’s Information Management System (TIMS) – This permit registers trekkers for safety and record-keeping. However, recently TIMS is not always mandatory, and in many cases, only the ACAP permit is sufficient for the trek.

When is the best Time For Khopra Danda Yoga Trekking In Nepal?

The best time to do the Khopra Danda Trek is during the Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) & Winter (December to February) seasons.
