Namun La Pass Trek - 11 Days Detailed Itinerary

The itinerary can be customized according to your duration of holiday. Similarly hotel can be upgraded or downgraded depending on your requirement.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our correspondent who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. Once checked in, you can relax and acclimate to the altitude, spending the rest of the day at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

This day after having breakfast in the hotel you will get ready to begin your journey to Ghalegaun via Besisahar.

You will drive in morning from Kathmandu to Besisahar and reach in about 5-6 hours. Besisahar is the capital of Lamjung district, you will relax for a while before going to Ghalegaun. Again, you drive to Ghalegaun which takes about 2 hours.

Upon arrival in Ghalegaun, you will be welcomed by local villagers with garlands and Tika. Ghalegaun village has major settlement of Gurung community (one of the major ethnic groups of Nepal). You can rest for a while and at night you can enjoy Gurung cultural show organized by local’s women community. Stay overnight at homestay and enjoy local food.

This day after having breakfast in the homestay, you prepare to start for camping trek from today. Today's trek will be around 5-6 hours of walking. 

Today's walk will be through the ascending trial crossing rhododendron forests and hills covered with different flowering plants. You will be walking on the Annapurna Conservation Area as you ascend towards Rapraju, if you are lucky then you get the chance to see the wild animals like: flock of deers, leopard and so on. It takes about 5 hours to reach Maidu Kharka from Ghalegaun. You will be walking total ascending trials until Rapraju. On the way you can see local Shepards grazing the cattle. Upon reaching Rapraju you can see scenic views of hills and snow-capped mountains. Overnight at Tented camp.

This day after having breakfast, you will head towards Qubar which takes about 6 – 7 hours. You will walk through the upper hill trail to reach Qubar. On the way you can see the beautiful views of mountain ranges like Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Mount Machhapuchre from back side and looking downwards you will see beautiful Gurung village settlements. Overnight at Tented camp.

This day after having breakfast, you will head towards Thurju Phat via Furju Pass which takes about 6-7 hours. Today also you will walk ascending trial on the hill in the grassland. After walking ascending trial for about 4 hours you will reach Furju Pass, from there you can see majestic view of Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and Danfe Himal as well as beautiful landscape of hills and river flowing downside. After crossing the pass, you will descend towards Thurju Phat which takes about 2 hours. Thurju Phat is basically a big grassland where you can do the camping. Overnight at Tented camp.

This day you will rest in Thurju Phat. (Phat meaning Flat open space) After having breakfast you will hike up to Dudhpokhari Lake, one of the beautiful lakes at an altitude of 4560 m. You have to walk the ascending trail for about 4 hours to reach the lake. Upon reaching Dudhpokhari lake you can see beautiful range of Lamjung and Danfe Himalayas. Also, the blue lake at an altitude of 4560 m being located in less touristic area is a sight for the eyes. You can relax and explore around for a while. Then after, you will descend back which takes about 2 hours and reach Thurju Phat. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Today is the important day of the trek, where you will be heading towards your mission, Namun Bhanjyang (4850 m). Today will be quite hard day compared to other days of the trek. After having breakfast in the early morning (about 4 am), you will ascend uphill towards Namun Bhanjyang Pass which takes about 5 hours and after enjoying the spectacular views you will descend downhill for about 3 hours to reach Danfe Kharka. On the way can see breathtaking landscape of the hills and Dudh Pokhari lake side, and Furju Pass. Upon reaching the pass you can see panoramic views of Manaslu Range, Pisang Peak, Larkya Peak, Mount Himlung, Mount Chulu Range, and so on.. Overnight at Tented Camp.

This day after having breakfast you will descend towards Timang which takes about 5 hours. You will have walk descending trials through the stairs and some downhill. On the way you can see Himalayan Yaks, Shepards and so on.. Timang is a beautiful local village settlement of Gurung people. This is also the route which connects to Annapurna Circuit (i.e. Timang – Chame 3-4 hours trek). Overnight at lodge. 

Note: For trekkers interested to extend the trek to Annapurna Circuit, it is possible to continue the trek from this day onwards.

This day after having breakfast you will descend down to Dharapani which takes about 4-5 hours. You will enjoy the trek as you pass through the local villages, village people, terraced farming, waterfalls and so on.. Upon arrival in Dharapani which is the ending point of Manaslu Circuit trek and beginning point of Annapurna Circuit trek, you will have lunch here. After lunch drive to Besishar which takes another 4 hours drive. Besisahar is the headquarer of Lamjung district, you can enjoy in coffee shop, take hot shower here in Besisahar. Overnight at basic hotel.

(Note: It is also possible to hire local private jeep to drive directly towards Besisahar via Dharapani  from Timang which takes about 4-5 hours of drive hours)

After breakfast, we take a private vehicle or local bus back to Kathmandu, which takes about 6 to 7 hours. During our drive, we’ll follow the Marshyangdi and Trishuli Rivers, enjoying views of terraced fields, forests, and even distant mountains along the way until we reach Kathmandu. Upon reaching in Kathmandu, we’ll drop you at your hotel. You can rest, freshen up, or explore the city. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
